View this email in your browser World War I: Beyond Flanders Fields Closing Reception Thursday, November 15 , 4-7 p.m.   Our partners, Hudson County Community College, will be hold its closing reception for the World War I: Beyond Flanders Fields exhibition on Thursday, November 15 from 4-7 p.m. In partnership with The New York Military Affairs Symposium, Captain Devon C. Collins from West Point will present a special lecture on “POW Veterans in WWI” starting at 4:30 p.m. Lite fare will be served. The Dineen Hull Gallery fall exhibition WWI: Beyond Flanders Fields is curated by Michelle Vitale, HCCC Director of Cultural Affairs. The exhibit commemorates the Great War and highlights war themes as well as examines its global and cultural effects on Hudson life. On display are unique military items, WWI Posters, photos and other period items. The exhibition also includes interactive listening stations and a commemorative poppy memorial where visitors can pay respect to WWI heroes. 2018-11-15 - Huson County Community College Reception The Township of Ocean Historical Museum, founded in 1984, is a member-supported, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey. Its headquarters, the Eden Woolley House, is one of the few 18th century structures still in existence in the Township and is open to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.), Thursday Evenings (7 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 15 through December 15) and the first and second Sundays of each month (1p.m. to 4 p.m.). The Township of Ocean Historical Museum offers exhibits on the history of coastal Monmouth County and a full calendar of events. The Museum is also 100% volunteer supported, with no paid staff. The Museum maintains a library and archive, which houses manuscripts, books, and photographs of historical and genealogical interest.
