Clerk Hanlon is encouraging New Jersey historical organizations to be part of the County Clerk's 2023 Archives and History Day and is inviting all residents to mark their calendars for our annual celebration of local and State history on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.

"The Monmouth County Archives Division of the County Clerk’s Office is proud to host our 28th Annual Archives and History Day which this year, will highlight business and industry of Monmouth County and will feature the unveiling of our annual archives exhibit and accompanying catalog booklet," said Clerk Hanlon.

In addition to the exhibit, there will be an exhibit-related keynote speech by William M. Gorman of Monmouth University, as well as additional speakers and awards presentations.

With more than 50 local and state historical societies and 300 expected attendees, Clerk Hanlon encourages all residents to attend and for local historical organizations to participate in the event by signing up for an exhibitor table.

The Township of Ocean Historical Museum, founded in 1984, is a member-supported, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey. Its headquarters, the Eden Woolley House, is one of the few 18th-century structures still in existence in the Township. The Museum is open on Thursday Evenings, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (March thru November), and Sunday afternoons, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Township of Ocean Historical Museum offers exhibits on the history of coastal Monmouth County and a full calendar of events. The Museum is also 100% volunteer supported, with no paid staff. The Museum maintains a library and archive, which houses manuscripts, books, and photographs of historical and genealogical interest.
