Mercer County - Trenton - "Modern Pop Art Experience" at the Trenton Free Central Public Library

Friday, July 21 -- Mercer County

Pop artist and author Michael Albert will bring his "Modern Pop Art Experience" program & Cereal Box Collage workshop to the Library accompanying an exhibition of his Pop Art Collages for the month of July. The free workshop will take place Friday, July 21st from 1-3pm for a special Art Making Session for kids, teens & families! There will be a special meet and greet with Michael at noon in the Mezzanine Gallery where 28 of his pieces are currently on display, spanning nearly 30 years of work - come check them out any time the library is open.

Albert is the author of An Artist's America (Henry Holt, 2008), an artist's autobiography written for a young (and grown up) audience, and is well known for the collages he makes from the printed packages of famous consumer brands.
This will be the first time he is in Trenton! Albert has been bringing his program to libraries, schools, museums & festivals all over the USA & in Europe for over a decade.

At Albert's 2-hour program all participants will hear a short presentation by the artist, view a collection of prints of his handmade masterpieces, in addition to the gallery exhibition, and then create their own collage in his style using the same materials he likes to use, namely the printed cardboard packages of consumer products (including but not limited to cereal boxes, which are his favorite!)

Finally, all participants will receive a special art gift, compliments of the artist. They can each pick one of a selection of about 20 of his self published limited edition prints which he will give out and sign for FREE as a special thank you for attending.
All teachers & art educators who attend will receive an additional free poster to bring back to their schools. For more information, visit www.michaelalbert.com.
